London Fashion Week had a more feminine, glamorous mood than New York’s cool, masculine elegance inspired shows. It seems that the bigger, the better, when it comes to coats next fall/winter. The catwalks were filled with military-influenced overcoats, oversized bomber jackets, even floor-length capes, with maximalism as the key word: eye-catching prints, and lots of embellishment and metallics. Here are some of my favorite designs from the best British fashion houses: Burberry, Mary Katrantzou, Alexander McQueen, Peter Pilotto, and Vivienne Westwood.
