At first I wasn’t sure if I’m watching a Gucci fashion show or a Vivienne Westwood one. I guess the creative director in Gucci land, Alessandro Michele combined the two cultures absolutely perfectly. And this is not a coincidence, as the latest Gucci Cruise 2017 collection was presented at the Westminster Abbey in London. Yes, the 700-year-old church that serves as the traditional place of coronations, nuptials and burials for the British monarchs! 🙂
“English culture is in a way very close to my beautiful chaos.” – he said. And his entire collection was an amazing tornado of styles and cultures, combining the British fashion legacy: punk style, Victorian features and even Staffordshire dog figurines into Gucci’s eccentric, bold, and brave Italian dolce vita feeling. Here’s some of my favorites from the fashion show, although it was extremely difficult to pick only a couple! 🙂
