Last week Dolce & Gabbana presented their Alta Moda collection for Fall/Winter 2016 in Naples, Italy, how else but in a Neapolitan way. The fashion show was all about the celebration of life. The Italian designer duo chose the piazza in front of Naples’s Chiesa di San Gregorio Armeno as the venue for the event, the audience taking place in velvet chairs and being helped to their seats by uniformed attendants. Before the models took over the runway, a marching band paraded down the catwalk playing the traditional Neapolitan tune, “Funiculì, Funiculà.”
The collection involves various Italian themes, from religion to football, but my favorites are definitely some of the coats, in eclectic prints and colors. We are talking about a Fall/Winter collection after all. Many of the looks were topped off with elaborate, oversized headdresses. I’ve gathered you some pictures from the show. Enjoy! 😉
